  Inside

The Mas des Vergiers is a typical Provençal style house, surrounded by apple orchards and just a short drive from Cavaillon, with easy access to shops, amenities and transport networks, meaning you can fit in plenty of sightseeing during your stay.

Recently renovated and retaining many of its original features, the house offers plenty of space for guests inside and a large and mature garden outside, with the star of the show being a large plane tree which provides shade for dining and relaxing after a dip in the pool.

Approaching the house through the gardens via a pretty stone path, the front door opens into a large tiled hallway with plenty of storage space, a small study and access to all areas of the house. Once inside, guests will find a house that has been recently renovated, retaining many period features and giving a real sense of country living as it is surrounded by farmland and orchards.

On the ground floor, there is a spacious en-suite bedroom with an original fireplace and a modern bathroom. There is also a spacious kitchen/dining room which has a large set of patio doors leading directly to the outside terrace, with further table space under the shade of a large plane tree, perfect for evening meals or afternoon aperitifs. Upstairs there is a large living room with a large sofa and a 43″ Smart TV and a further 3 bedrooms, 2 doubles and a twin, all with views of the garden or the surrounding orchards.

  •  Kitchen/Diner: A kitchen and dining area overlooking the garden. The central island provides plenty of space for meal preparation and separates the main cooking area from the dining area which has a large oval dining table that seats 8. The traditional Provençal style kitchen has an oven and 4 ring induction hob, double fridge/freezer with ice maker and water dispenser, microwave and dishwasher. There is also a traditional filter coffee machine.
  • Sun Room: Leading off from the open plan lounge is the Sun Room, a traditional tiled and beamed room with a large front aspect and fully opening sliding doors leading to a canvas covered terrace with views over the pool and gardens. Here there is a second large table and dining area providing a shaded and cool place to eat or if you prefer the table can be moved out onto the terrace to make the most of the warm evenings.
  • Salon/Family room: This large, bright room with vaulted ceilings and wooden beams overlooks the colline St Jacques to the front and wide views over the orchards and beyond to the rear. There is plenty of seating and storage space. There is a large L-shaped sofa and a 43″ Smart TV with connectivity for all modern devices, meaning guests are welcome to stream their own devices, perfect for family movie nights. The highlight of the saloon is the fireplace designed by Gõsta Claesson, which has been lovingly restored to it’s original glory. The lounge is equipped with air conditioning.
  • Laundry room: On the ground floor guests have access to a large laundry room with a 14kg washing machine and 9kg tumble dryer, ironing board, iron and vacuum cleaner.
  • Guest wc: On the ground floor there is a modern guest wc with toilet, bidet and original stone wash basin.
  • Large Entrance: The large entrance hall has a number of storage cupboards and a small study area.

The house sleeps 8 people in 4 bedrooms. There are 3 bedrooms upstairs and a large en-suite bedroom downstairs. All bedrooms have air conditioning.

  • Bedroom 1: On the ground floor, this large room has a 160cm bed, a fireplace, various storage cupboards and a recently renovated en-suite bathroom. The front of the room overlooks the front garden. The en-suite bathroom has a wall-hung toilet, a bidet and an Italian-style shower with a small seat, all of which are dressed in travertine stone.
  • Bedroom 2: Upstairs, this twin bedroom has 2 x 90cm beds, wooden floors and views over the garden and the Colline St Jacques. This bedroom shares a pleasantly decorated wooden floor hallway and bathroom with Bedroom 3.
  • Bedroom 3: This room has a rear aspect overlooking the apple orchards, it has a pretty 160cm iron-framed bed and original wooden floor. Sharing a hallway and bathroom with Bedroom 2.
  • Bathroom 3: The shower room is shared with Bedrooms 2 and 3. There is a modern metal shower unit with double shower heads and a beautiful tiled washbasin and suspended toilet.
  • Bedroom 4: OThis large en-suite bedroom has a 160cm bed and a Juliette balcony overlooking the front garden and pool area. There is plenty of storage space and a large desk. There is a spacious en-suite shower room with a tiled shower, washbasin and toilet.

  Outside

The large and mature garden is secluded and private, with a beautiful selection of lavender and rose bushes and completely surrounded by apple orchards, with views to the front of the Colline St Jacques in Cavaillon and to the rear of Les Alpilles.

There is a raised terrace where you can sit and enjoy almost 360 degree views, perfect for a quiet sunset drink. Below is the pool house with shower and toilet.

The 12 x 4m pool is surrounded by lavender and roses and can be seen from the house. There is a pool alarm for security.

The garden is large with plenty of space for children to play. The garden is completely fenced and there are metal gates at the entrance with a gravel and stone pathway leading to the house via a delightful covered terrace.

There are several options for al fresco dining, a small table under the shade of a lovely plane tree, or for more formal dining there is the option of a table under a canvas awning outside the sun room, or bringing the table inside the sun room with it’s large sliding doors to maximise the cooler air inside.

Parking is outside the main gates and there is space for 2 cars.

What we like


  • Outside areas:  With a large pool, plenty of mature trees and plants and plenty of places to sit, ideal for play or even take a siesta or two.
  • Location:  With the nearest Boulangerie less than 5 minutes drive, supermarkets and shops within easy reach, and access to all transport hubs, this is a great central location to take plenty of day trips
  • Pool:  A 12 x 4m pool with it’s own shower and toilet and surrounded by beautiful lavender and rose bushes, this is a great place to relax.
  • Shared spaces:  There are plenty of places to sit, chat or even watch a movie together, inside in the air conditioning, or outside in the beautiful sunshine…choices, choices.

  • Pool Safety:  Pool safety: The pool has an alarm but is not gated so extra care should be taken with young children..
